Steiner, sewing and studying

It's been a busy week.
Skye started at the Steiner school this week and had swimming lessons with the school everyday except for Wednesday (she finishes at 12:30pm on Wednesdays). She had her first school friend's birthday party on Wednesday after school too, so I got to mingle with the parents and get to know them a little. I can already remember 3 of their names LOL

I finished my first assignment this week in interpsersonal communicaton, so now I can focus on the psychology one this week and hopefully get the conflict management one done the week after. They are all due to be handed in my the 2nd week of November arghhh

I took a day off study today and did some sewing. Skye needed more clothes for school now that she doesn't wear a uniform or bum around at home, so I thought I'd be frugal and make her some.
So far I have made two tops both using the same pattern. They remind me of hankerchief dresses Iwore when I was a kid. One is very light weight cotton for hot days, which is the floral print one with the yellow side panels (I ran out of floral fabric, but fortunatly the yellow matches quite well). It looks much better on than it did when I was sewing it. I really thought she'd hate it, but she was eager to slip it over the dress my mother bought her a couple of weeks ago.
The other dress in more of a Spring weight. It's made out of cotton velour which I had bought for making cloth wipes. I think the pink and blue go well together :0) Skye's wearing that one tomorrow.
