Green play dough

Last week when shopping with Skye, we came across some tubs of play dough for $8.
It was a set of 4 tubs in assorted colours and Skye really really wanted it.
I told her that it would be more fun (and alot cheaper) if we made some together, so a couple of days ago that's what we set out to do.
I went online and looked up some playdough recipes and all but one said we needed cream of tartar as an ingrediant (which we didn't have) so we went with the one which didn't have it.
It was a disaster LOL it was like green goop and stuck to everything. Skye played with it anyway haha she loves mess and it was like mud caking her hands and everything she touched (including door handles and taps).

Yesterday I went and bought cream of tartar so we could do this thing properly and it turned out fantastic.
We had 2 kids from up the street come over and join in with the creative fun and the kids spent hours (literally) playing with it.
I'll be getting more food colours tomorrow for sure!!!

Play dough Recipe

I cup of plain flour
2 table spoons of cream of tartar (YOU MUST USE THIS OR EWWWWW)
2 tablespoons of oil (I used canola)
half a cup of table salt
splash of colour
2 cups of warm tap water

Put all ingrediants into a pot and stir over medium heat until thick and smooth.
Take out of pot and roll into a ball till cool enough for the kids to play with.

it gives a real soft and smooth texture and doesn't stick to anything.
Store in an air tight container in the fridge and it apparantly lasts weeks.
